Hi

I want to do the simulation of AD8250.

I made the model from "AD8250.cir" file.

But I couldn't simulate that.

Error message is below.

*** ERROR *** The circuit is too large to simulate with this version.

Please provide the AD8250 model file?

and please give us the tips to go well .

Simulate with an AMP03, Importing Models

$

I have found that the library comes with the AMP01,02, and 04, but not the AMP03. Naturally it is the one I need. I am just now learning this particular suite and I am having trouble adding the desired component to the library. I have seen many great example showing one simply dragging and dropping a spice file into the command prompt for ADIsimPE. However, the manufacture website, Analog Devices, only offers .BXL files for this component. It is then pointed out that I can use Ultra Librarian to correct that but I'm not having any luck figuring out what needs to happen. I can get Ultra Librarian to process the .BXL file into a number of different tool formats but none of them appear to be compatible with ADIsimPE. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Simulation using AD8336, AD736 and AD8551 spice models in Pspice

I have this circuit to be simulated in Pspice. I'm a complete newbie to it. But so far have managed to make the schematic (adding external components, which were not available already in the library).

I have added models for AD8336, AD736 and AD8551 externally (models for which were available on Analaog devices website). Now when I try to run my simulation, I get errors as to the sub circuits used by AD8336 and AD736 are undefined (although I have added the libraries for both the AD8336 and AD8551 to my design in the simulation profile).

Kindly help. I really feel stuck up at this point. I got to make this work anyhow.
Thanks in advance

Use ADP151 in a wired or configuration

$

0

We are using ADP151 in a dual supply environment. We have one 2.8-3.6V battery
supply which is limited to 2.8V by an ADP151 and a 3.3V supply.
We want to connect the 3.3V supply to the ADP151s output through a diode. The
output voltage will be about 3.1V when powered through the 3.3V supply. When
the 3.3V supply is not present the ADP will supply 2.8V from the battery.

question: what will happen when the battery is completely drained and the external 3.3V is
supplied? Will this lead to a current flow from the ADP151 output to its input?
Or would there be any other reason why this would lead to damaging the ADP151?

I would usually add an extra diode at the output of the ADP151, but that would cost me too much of a voltage drop.

ADP5061/62 battery isolation FET

Hi,

(1) battery isolation

Vin = 0V (VBus not connected)

Vbat > Vweak (system is running from battery)

is it possible to isolate the battery from the system load by setting the EN_CHG & DIS_LDO bit via I2C --> total system shut down leading to minimum battery load (5µA right?)? Am I right that DIS_LDO will be reset after Vbus has been connected automatically and so the system would be powered in LDO mode in case Vbus is connected? We are planning to have a fixed soldered internal Lipo cell ... for that we would need the battery isolation/total system shut down (even if VBat>>Vweak) for maximum battery life time (during stock, ...)

(2) SYS_EN

what means 'active' in your datasheet:

- FET==active --> pin pulled low

    or

- active means FET is open and pin is pulled high

is there a SYS_EN mode where SYS_EN is 'active' when Vin>Vin_ok OR Vbat>Vweak (usb connected or good battery) and deactivated if Vin<Vin_ok AND Vbat<Vweak (no usb and low battery) --> if yes (which mode?) I could use SYS_EN to en/disable a buck converter generating the system working voltage (2.7V)?

I have already ordered the eval board but you could help a lot in advance

Selecting input power - external, usb or batteries

$

Hi,

I'm modifying an existing design that has 3 different power inputs:

Ext power - ~12V

Batteries - 6 x AA

USB - 5V

The design currently just diode 'OR's' the supplies together before the main switching regulator.

The problem is that when there is no external power, but there are batteries and USB, the current is drawn from the batteries as they are a higher voltage. I'd really like to be able to isolate the batteries completely when on USB power.

I've been looking at high side and low side switches etc, but have yet to come up with a good solution.

I don't want to redesign the power supply - too much risk, and I'm limited for board space. I also don't want to introduce any significant losses that will limit run time on the batteries.

Any good ideas?

Hello,

My customer asks some questions about changing the current range of AD5560 on operation.

Their company is a manufacturer of ATE equipment in Korea.

And they will use this device to

And they are considering the use of AD5560 to their ATE equipment.

Please refer below questions and let me know your answers.

On the proceding the Measure Current Mode and maintaining the fixed voltage through FV using AD5560,

Q1) When they change the Curent Range of AD5560 on operation, are there any effect and issues at DUT voltage?

In other words, can they change the Curent Range of AD5560 on operation without any issues at DUT Voltage?

Q2) When they change the Curent Range of AD5560 on operation,is there concern about generating Noise (like GIitch) caused by changing switch at insied of device?

In other words, can they change the Curent Range of AD5560 on operation without any noises caused from inside of deivce?

Please advise me ASAP.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello everyone,

There is a problem when I use ADP7142. When I apply a negetive voltage below -0.5V, the LDO will not work. Once the voltage over than -0.5V, the output go back to normal as the curve I captured(the yellow one is a negetive voltage from a signal source in series with a 1k resistor).TEK00026.PNG

Besides, I test the ADP7118 with the same condition, it prove to be the same. But when I test ADP123, it work normal.

adp3334's thermal pad

$

hi;

I made a stupid mistake. In one of my project I used a adp3334acp to regulate 7v input power to 6v output. according to the datasheet of adp3334, "the thermal pad is attached to the die substrate, so the thermal planes that the vias attach the package to must be electrically isolated or connected to VIN. Do NOT connect the thermal pad to ground."  But in my design, I carelessly attached the thermal pad to the ground. I thought this circuit will not work and I had to re-design it. But surprisingly, it did work! I got a 6V output from the 7V input.

My question is: should I follow the datasheet and connect the thermal pad to VIN or let it float? If I connect the thermal pad to ground, what will happen?

Attached is my circuit:

ADR444 Incorrect Output Voltage

I am trying to use the ADR444 as a 4.096V reference for the ADAS3023, using the AD8031 as a buffer, as suggested on the ADAS3023 data sheet.  The ADR444 is giving about 4.3V, which is dropping to 4.2V after the AD8031.  Both of these are operating off 5V input.

I don't know that this will be a major issue, but I wonder if it's possible I'm missing something.

Operate ADP5090 using rectifier

$

Hi there,

I just bought an ADP5090 and used a DC power supply to test it. With 0.4V input(VIN), the output(SYS and BAT) is 3V as I set for termination. I think this is the "after cold start" situation, so I use 0.1V input(VIN), and the output(SYS and BAT) is 3V as well.

Then, I connect a rectifier(as attached file) with Signal Generator. The output of rectifier is connected to ADP5090 input(VIN). Measuring the VIN, it is about 0.1~0.2V. BUT, the  output(SYS and BAT) CANNOT boost to 3V. Instead, the voltage of SYS slowly drops from 3V.

I don't know if ADP5090 has to feed a pure DC input or there is other problem?

Thanks a lot!
