Fellow Engineers,
We need a DC/DC converter to power the isolated portion of a circuitry that will be potentially at high voltage.
The claims on the datasheet of the ADUM chips are almost a joke. We are looking for numbers we can rely on.
Not overly conservative numbers, nor aggressive marketing numbers.
Please help.
The ADUM 5110 for example lists 2500V at it's name.
After some research, you can read that it is rated for 2500V for one minute.
We tested the ADUM5110 at 5000V for a day without any issues.
Here are all the different claims:
VIORM = 560 V peak
2500 V rms for 1 minute per UL 1577
Highest Allowable Overvoltage 3535 V
VIOSM 4000 V peak
This is anything but helpful. I understand we can take a ultra-conservative approach and rate for a few hundred volts, but then you won't be using this parts to their fullest.
Thus, I would really appreciate if someone would help me determine to what conditions these products were designed to operate?
We are looking for info on your ADUM 5110 and ADUM6000.
